A Breakthrough for Poultry Health
Vaxxon® SHS is a lyophilized live attenuated Avian Metapneumovirus (aMPV) vaccine, developed to protect poultry against Swollen Head Syndrome. The vaccine has proven itself for more than 20 years in the field outside the US, in multiple poultry production systems. In 2025, the USDA granted Vaxxinova the first-ever U.S. approval for the importation of a live vaccine for food‑producing animals, marking an unprecedented regulatory milestone. This authorization, issued under a Veterinary Biological Product Permit, enabled emergency access to a much‑needed solution for turkey and poultry producers devastated by aMPV outbreaks.
